USCIS announces new registration rules for the H-1B Program

USCIS has made updates to the H-1B program aimed at improving the program, reducing H-1B enrollment fraud, and changing the cost of certain application fees.

Beginning enrollment in FY 2025, USCIS will require valid passport information for each beneficiary, who must enroll using only one piece of identification intended to be used for entry into the United States if granted an H-1B visa.

H-1B registration for FY 2025 will open at noon ET on March 6, 2024 and will continue until noon ET through March 22, 2024.

During this period, potential applicants and their representatives must use a USCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary.

On February 28, 2024, new USCIS online entity accounts will be launched to allow multiple individuals within a company and their legal representatives to file H-1B petitions and Form I-907 petitions.

On February 28, 2024, USCIS will launch online filing of Form I-129 and associated Form I-907 for H-1B petitions.

On April 1, 2024, USCIS will accept online submissions of H-1B petitions and associated Forms I-907 for petitioners whose registrations have been selected.

H-4 and H-4 EAD applications for dependents are not eligible for online filing, so H-1B petition packages that must include family members cannot currently use this new online system.
